Chris Benac

Chris Benac

Receiving her first degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Arizona, Chris continued her education at Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. She also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Interior Design from Scottsdale Community College and served her design internship at Nelson Barnum Interiors.

Chris has over twenty years of combined work experience in business, retail management, and interior design, eight of which have been at Nelson Barnum Interiors. Utilizing her diverse educational and employment history, Chris provides her clients with unique designs and an innate business sense, while creating comfortable living and working environments. Her projects include high-end residential and executive office suites both in and out of state.

Kim Barnum

Kim Barnum

Working in the design industry for over twenty years, Kim served as a design intern at a Scottsdale studio, and then moved to Polo Ralph Lauren in their Home Collection where she trained with New York Polo window display designers. Kim returned to Scottsdale and worked for a local studio as a designer for eight years before opening Nelson Barnum Interiors with Teresa Nelson, specializing in classic, inspirational design. Kim's distinctive and refined style, attention to detail, and skill at combining function and aesthetics offers clients a pleasant experience from project inception to completion.

Kim began her design study at Point Loma College in San Diego, California and received her Associate of Arts degree in Design from Mesa Community College. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Phoenix.

Nelson Barnum Interiors was founded by Teresa Nelson and Kim Barnum almost 15 years ago, and is one of Scottsdale's most established, full-service design studios. Teresa and Kim's individual strengths blend together artfully to bring client's the most unique and exquisite interiors the area has experienced. They share a mutual passion for work inspired by 19th and 20th century Europe and are founded in the belief that beautiful design must include functionality.

Norma Schulz

Norma Schulz

The newest member of the Nelson Barnum design team is Norma Schulz. Her educational background includes an Associates of Arts Degree in Business and she is currently completing her Applied Science Degree in Interior Design at Mesa Community College. She will graduate with an advanced certificate next Spring.

Norma has twenty years experience in administrative work and ten years experience in the retail design industry. In 2003 she began her design internship at Nelson Barnum Interiors, being mentored by Teresa Nelson and Kim Barnum.
